Augusta Raurica
The largest archaeological open-air museum

Augusta Raurica offers more than 20 sights, including the best-preserved ancient theatre north of the Alps, a unique recreated Roman house and a Roman domestic animal park. Today, Augusta Raurica is the best-visited tourist attraction in Canton Basel-Landschaft.

Every Year, last weekend in August, a hughe Roman Festival takes place at Augusta Raurica. Come and enjoy!

Musical Theater Basel

The musical theatre, one of the most beautiful and most modern theatre and concert halls of Switzerland, is part of the largest Swiss fair and convention enterprise. The musical theatre is done by Freddy Burger management since 1998.

Excellent shows and musicals regularly take place in the musical theatre. You find the current programme under enclosed link.

Only 1 minute footpath of the musical theatre is remotely the Dorint hotel. E.g. enjoy a fine menu in our restaurant before the performance. You find musical packages on our home page or sundries you simply call us.

Guided Tour

You accompany night watchman Rudolf Streiff Alban on his evening tour through nightly streets and lanes in the legendary suburb St . Rudolf Streiff is his sign night watchmen in the piece Alban valley. On his evening inspection round he reports of adventures of already past from the career and the habits of the people to the piece Alban valley, the "little Venice" of Basel. Among other things he talks about his unrequited love which meets him from time to time.
